Garrett Popcorn in the City

Garrett Popcorn is a Chicago favorite dating back to 1949. Jersey Iggy was relieved that she didn't have to go all the way to the "Windy City" to enjoy this treat. There's one shop right on 34th Street near Macy's Herald Square in New York City.

Jersey Iggy went inside last month not just for popcorn, but to seek temporary refuge from the summer rain. That explains why the kid behind her has a poncho from the sight-seeing bus he just got off from.

Their popular flavor is "the Mix," which combines cheese and caramel flavored popcorn. You can have your popcorn in a souvenir tin can bearing the New York skyline design, or the NY Yankees stripes and logo.

Two other Garrett Popcorn locations in Manhattan are on 5th Avenue (near the Philippine Consulate building) and on West 39th St. (near the Port Authority Bus Terminal).
