Merry Iggy Visits Germany

Merry Iggy accompanied Kayni on her Baltic trip. Merry Iggy and Kayni really enjoyed Germany and here are some postcards:

 Merry Iggy took a photo at the marker of the Berlin Wall. Actually, another girl got intrigued with Merry Iggy and she asked if she could take a photo of her as well.

 We strolled around the Brandenburg Gate.

We found the simple Cecilienhof Palace in Potsdam very picturesque.

The Sanssouci Palace was quiet and suitable for an afternoon relaxation.

 Enjoyed the Baltic breeze at the resort town of Warnemunde.

And, marveled at the Berlin Wall's history and art.

Miss Igorota was warmly welcomed to Gelnhausen, Germany by the monument of Philipp Reis. The Gelnhausen-born scientist and inventor Philipp Reis was the inventor of the first prototype of the telephone.

The obligatory photo opp with the monument. 

Miss Iggy loved the romantic charm of the old town. The colorful buildings looked like images from a storybook.

back to the middle ages

Miss Iggy went to Ronneburg, a castle on top of a hill in a town with the same name in Germany. She was awestruck by the medieval characters walking around - witches, knights, swordsmiths.

Miss Iggy and Wolfgang

Miss Iggy feeling inspired in front of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's statue in Frankfurt. Goethe was one of the most influential German writers. His masterpiece is Faust, a two-part drama where the protagonist makes a pact with the devil to find the true essence of life. (Sound familiar? The movie Bedazzled was based on this story)

Goethe's works later became a major source of inspiration in music, drama, poetry and philosophy.
